You'll create invoices from the billing page or from a client's profile. The flow is the same; the entry point is whatever's quickest.
Create an Invoice
Updated May 7, 2026
From the Invoices page
- Open Invoices in the sidebar.
- Click New Invoice.
- Select the client from the dropdown.
- Set the invoice date and due date.
- Add line items:
- Pick a service (auto-fills name and price), or enter a custom description.
- Set quantity and unit price.
- The line total calculates automatically.
- Apply a tax rate if you've configured tax in Settings → Billing.
- Review the totals.
- Click Save as Draft to keep editing, or Send to deliver immediately.
From a client profile
- Open the client's profile.
- Go to the Billing tab.
- Click New Invoice. The client is pre-selected for you.
After creation
- Drafts are editable, useful when you want to assemble an invoice over time.
- Sent invoices trigger a payment email to the client with a Stripe payment link (when Stripe Connect is set up; see Billing Configuration).
- Track payment status from the invoice detail panel.
Tips
- Add a clear due date to encourage timely payment.
- Use line item descriptions that match what the client expects to see, especially for less-frequent services.
- Invoice notes are a good place for cancellation policy text or thank-you wording.
