Line items are the individual charges on an invoice. Each represents a service, product, or one-off charge billed to the client.

Add a line item
- Open an invoice in draft or edit mode.
- Click Add Line Item.
- Pick how to add it:
- From services: select a service from your catalog, and name, duration, and price pre-fill.
- Custom item: enter a description and price by hand.
- Set the quantity (defaults to 1).
- The line total is calculated automatically.
Edit and remove
- Click any line item to change description, quantity, or price.
- Changes recalculate the invoice total in real time.
- Click the delete icon to remove a line item.
Common types
- Session fees for the standard service charge.
- Discounts as a negative line item to reduce the total.
- Late cancellation or no-show fees added to an invoice for a missed appointment.
- Products or supplies sold to the client.
Tips
- Use service-linked line items when possible so your billing matches your service catalog.
- Add description text on custom items so the client knows what they're being charged for.
- Drag line items to reorder them.
- Subtotal, tax, and total all calculate automatically as you edit.
