Note Templates
Templates help you standardize your clinical documentation and save time when writing session notes. Stillpoint includes a built-in SOAP template and lets you create custom templates for your specific practice needs.
Built-in Templates
- SOAP Note -- The standard Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan format
- Free-form -- A blank note with no predefined structure
Creating a Custom Template
- Navigate to Note Templates
- Click New Template
- Give your template a name (e.g., "Initial Intake", "Progress Note")
- Define the sections you want to include:
- Add section headings
- Include placeholder text or prompts for each section
- Arrange sections in your preferred order
- Click Save Template
Using a Template
When creating a new clinical note, you'll be prompted to choose a template. The template pre-fills the note structure so you can focus on documenting the session rather than formatting.
Managing Templates
- Edit any custom template from the Note Templates list
- Duplicate a template to create a variation without starting from scratch
- Delete templates you no longer need (existing notes using that template are not affected)
Tips
- Create templates for different session types (initial consultation, follow-up, discharge)
- Include prompts within sections to remind yourself what to document
- Templates are shared across all practitioners in your practice
