In a multi-location practice, not every practitioner works at every location. A naturopath might see clients downtown on Mondays and virtually on Wednesdays. A massage therapist might only do in-home visits. Practitioner-location assignments make sure your booking page only shows valid combinations.
Assigning Practitioners to Locations
Updated May 7, 2026
How filtering works
When a client picks a service on the booking page, Stillpoint figures out which locations to show like this:
- Start with every location for the practice.
- Keep only locations where the chosen practitioner is assigned.
- Keep only locations where the chosen service is offered.
- Keep only locations with active hours and availability.
If a location isn't assigned to anyone, it doesn't appear on the booking page until you assign at least one practitioner.
Assign locations to a practitioner
- Open Practitioners.
- Click the practitioner you want to update.
- Open the Locations tab on their profile.
- Check every location they work at (in-person, virtual, mobile, any combination).
- Click Save.
The change takes effect immediately. New bookings show this practitioner only at the locations you've selected.
New locations are empty by default
When you create a new location, no practitioners are assigned to it. You'll need to either:
- Open each practitioner's profile and check the new location, or
- Open the new location's settings and assign practitioners from there.
This protects you from accidentally exposing the wrong practitioners at a brand-new site.
If you upgraded from single-location
Existing practitioners were automatically assigned to your original location so nothing broke when multi-location turned on. Any new locations you create from that point start empty.
Common setups
Solo practitioner, two locations. Your one practitioner is assigned to both. Clients pick which office they prefer when booking.
Group practice with shared spaces. Every practitioner is assigned to every in-person location. They take turns based on the schedule, and the booking page shows all available slots regardless of who's working.
Specialist services. An acupuncturist who only works at the east-side clinic and only does in-home visits on Saturdays gets assigned to those two locations and unassigned from everything else.
Hybrid in-person plus virtual. Half your team does telehealth, half doesn't. Assign telehealth practitioners to your virtual location; leave the in-person-only team off it.
Tips
- The Locations tab on each practitioner's profile is your single source of truth.
- Review assignments when you add a new practitioner or open a new location.
- If a location seems "missing" from the booking page, check that at least one practitioner is assigned and the location is active.
- Practitioner-location assignments work alongside per-service location restrictions; both must allow a combination for it to appear.
